Cold Box procedure

Development
Development is of primary interest. Our work includes Catia 3D modelling and ProCast simulation.
Melt preparation and treatment
The melt preparation and treatment, as they are of key importance for the quality of casts, are given great attention. We apply:
- Degassing of foundry alloys with Argon in the impeller and
- Modification with strontium and titanium-boron.
Casting
We use casting machines for gravity die casting and for low-pressure die casting. We manufacture casts with or without core in weight from 0,5 to 30 kg.

Decoring & Deburring
Different procedures are used for cleaning casts:
- Removal of sand cores,
- Removal of sprues and burrs in robotized cells,
- Machine grinding,
- Manual grinding,
- Sandblasting.
Thermal treatment
According to the demanded mechanic properties we apply a thermal cast treatment (T3, T4 up to T6).
Mechanic treatment
CNC tooling runs on modern CNC machining centres.

By using a sand core that is inserted in the mould before the casting process a cavity is designed in the cast.
The accurate form of the Cold Box core enable accomplishment of hollow castings of most complex shape.
